Prof Kenneth Gergen
Senior Fellow
Prof Kenneth Gergen is a Senior Fellow at the GHFP. He is also Senior Research Professor in Psychology at Swarthmore College, and the President of the Taos Institute. Upon receiving his PhD from Duke University, Gergen served as an Assistant Professor at Harvard University, after which he took a position as Chair of the Department of Psychology at Swarthmore College. He served as a visiting professor at the Sorbonne, Heidelberg University, Kyoto University, Marburg University, Trento University, Ritsumeikan University, and as a Senior Research Scientist at the Eastern Pennsylvania Psychiatric Institute.
Prof Scherto Gill
Senior Fellow
Prof Scherto Gill is a Senior Fellow of the GHFP. She assists the development of new research projects, supports our research team’s efforts, liaises with partners in carrying out collaborative research, and contributes to our research publications. Scherto is the founding Director of Global Humanity for Peace Institute at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David. Scherto is a board member of several peace-oriented international forums, including Rising Global Peace Forum, and Spirit of Humanity Forum. She is also a Life Fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts (FRSA).
Prof Ivor Goodson
Visiting Research Fellow
Prof Ivor Goodson is a Visiting Research Fellow at the GHFP. He is also Professor of Learning Theory at the University of Brighton, and Joss Owen Visiting Professor at the University of Plymouth. He is the Founding editor of the Journal of Education Policy. Ivor has spent the last 30 years researching, thinking and writing about some of the key and enduring issues in education and has contributed over 50 books and 600 articles to the field. Ivor was recently given the Michael Huberman award at the American Educational Research Association for his work on teachers’ lives; he has just been given an Honorary Doctorate by the University of Gothenburg and made a Laureate of the Phi-Delta-Kappa Society in the USA.
Prof Ali Moussa Iye
Research Associate
Prof Ali Moussa Iye is a Research Associate at the GHFP. He joined UNESCO in 1997 as Coordinator of the Programme of Culture of Peace in the Horn of Africa and then of the Programme on the Fight against Racism and Discrimination. He directed two important UNESCO Programmes: The Routes of Dialogue (Slave Route Project, Silk Roads Project) and the General and Regional Histories Project. He was the Coordinator of the General History of Africa project. Ali has expertise in Political Anthropology and has published books on the endogenous democratic institutions and practices in the Horn of Africa. He is the co-founder of the think tank “AFROPROSPECTIVE: A Global Africa Initiative”. He is also a Professor of Practice at the Global Humanity for Peace Institute, University of Wales Trinity Saint David.
Dr Livingston Armytage
Research Associate
Dr Livingston Armytage is a Research Associate at the GHFP. He is also adjunct professor of law, University of Sydney. With over thirty years’ experience directing programs of justice reform, judicial development and civil litigation, Livingston has been a Senior counsel, project director, team leader and technical specialist on ADB, AusAID, United Nations, World Bank and USAID projects in many countries. His expertise includes policy formulation, strategic planning, project design, program direction and management, need assessment, training, performance monitoring and evaluation. He has published widely, including Reforming Justice (Cambridge University Press).
Dr Josef Boehle
Research Associate
Dr Josef Boehle is a Research Associate at the GHFP. He is the Director of the Charter for Forgiveness and Reconciliation. He works as a Research Fellow in Globalisation, Religion and Politics at the Department of Theology and Religion, University of Birmingham. Apart from teaching ‘Religion and Peacebuilding’, Josef worked on ‘Religion and Peacebuilding in International Relations’, a research project jointly sponsored by the GHFP. Josef has worked with international interreligious organisations for many years and helped organise major conferences and summits addressing interreligious, intercultural and inter-civilisational issues.
Antonia Gergen
Research Associate
Antonia Gergen is a Research Associate of the GHFP. She is a Cognitive and Neuroscience graduate with research experience in perceptual neuroscience and developmental neurobiology. She received her BSc in Cognitive Science and BA in Psychology with Honors from UC Santa Cruz, where she worked as a research assistant in the SAMAHA Cognitive and Computational Neuroscience Lab. With a passion for change-making through scientific inquiry, Antonia is driven to continue contributing to the international discourse on human psychology.
David Cadman
Research Professor
David Cadman’s work is centred upon the teachings of love and compassion, wholeness and connectivity. For many years, David held professorial titles and fellowships in universities in the UK and America. He is currently a Peace and Harmony Professor of Practice at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David and is the Harmony Advisor to the King’s Foundation. Together with his colleague Scherto Gill of the Guerrand-Hermès Foundation for Peace, he is presently involved in a research project titled ‘A Narrative of Love’. And in China, he is working with the Taoist Master, Christopher Chuang, on an exploration of Love and the Tao, and a practice of stillness and silence called The Time of Silence. His most recent publications are Love Arising and, with Master Chuang, The Tao of Love.
